NAVOI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS BECOMING A MAJOR MULTIMODAL CARGO HUB IN EURASIA

Another important step has been taken towards transforming Navoi International Airport into a major multimodal logistics hub in Eurasia.

On 9 September 2026, a Framework Agreement on a Strategic Alliance was signed between Harvest Epoch Strategik Investment Limited and Navoi International Airport. On 16 October, the parties agreed on a roadmap for implementing the arrangements, marking the transition to the practical phase of cooperation.

Under the roadmap, the parties will work to refine the feasibility study, develop commercial terms and tariffs, and prepare the airport’s infrastructure and services in accordance with international standards.

The launch of the first test cargo flights is planned for December 2026. To facilitate this, the readiness of ground handling services, aircraft fuelling facilities, warehouse complexes and customs clearance procedures will be ensured. In addition, work is underway to bring the airport’s fire safety systems into compliance with ICAO Category 9 requirements.

According to Chan Hung Tog, Chairman of the Board of Harvest Epoch Strategik, this cooperation between China and Navoi International Airport is of significant importance for the development of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As stated by Alisher Klichev, Director of Navoi International Airport, a final agreement is scheduled to be signed in November, followed by the planned launch of a six-month pilot project.

One of the key objectives of this cooperation is to achieve an annual cargo throughput of 45,000 tonnes through Navoi International Airport by 2030. Harvest Epoch Strategik Investment Limited will support the growth of cargo traffic by attracting airlines, e-commerce companies and logistics operators.

This cooperation will help maximise the use of Navoi International Airport’s strategic geographical location and existing infrastructure, strengthen logistics links between China and Europe, and expand opportunities for delivering Uzbek-made products to global markets.
