A business forum was held in Navoi Region with the participation of a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Mahdi Zandieh Vakili, Governor of Markazi Province.

The delegation included representatives of more than 50 companies and organizations operating in strategic sectors such as agriculture, food processing, metallurgy, mining, oil and gas, chemicals, and automotive manufacturing, as well as representatives of official institutions.

As part of the forum, the management of Navoi International Airport presented the airport’s capabilities and proposals. The presentation highlighted the airport’s potential as an international transport and logistics hub, its existing infrastructure and development prospects, as well as the priorities outlined in the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the efficiency of Navoi International Airport.

Particular attention was paid to the introduction of the “Porto-Franco” customs regime at Navoi International Airport, which creates new opportunities for the development of international cargo transportation, logistics, and investment projects.

The airport also put forward proposals to expand trade and logistics cooperation with the business community of Markazi Province, attract new cargo flows, and implement joint projects.

The meeting served as an important platform for taking trade and economic relations between Navoi Region and Markazi Province to a new level, particularly in the areas of transport, logistics, cargo transportation, and investment.

The new opportunities offered by the “Porto-Franco” regime at Navoi International Airport can provide Iranian businesses with additional logistics opportunities for accessing the markets of Uzbekistan and the wider region.
